Whether you’re into anime culture or just want something visually striking for your next hangout, the Spirit Bomb pays homage to the power of community, energy, and transformation. It’s a fresh nod to what happens when we all come together.

Background & Inspiration

In Dragon Ball Z, the Spirit Bomb is Goku’s ultimate move when things get serious. He gathers energy from every willing soul on the planet, raises his hands, and forms this glowing blue orb charged with pure ki. It’s about unity, hope, and that collective push when you’re running on empty.

That’s exactly the vibe we’re channeling here. This drink is bold, luminous, and layered—just like the attack. The vibrant blue glow reflects the bomb’s energy, and the butterfly pea flower ice gives it a cosmic shimmer, like Goku reaching out to the universe. And because it shouldn’t taste like a space rock, we’ve balanced it out with lychee liqueur for a sweet, almost ethereal softness.

Time

  • Prep: ~5 minutes

  • Chill/Freeze: ~4 hours (for butterfly pea ice)

Ingredients

  • 40 ml vodka

  • 15 ml Blue Curaçao liqueur

  • 20 ml lychee liqueur (or lychee syrup)

  • 15 ml fresh lemon juice

  • 60 ml soda water

  • Pinch of edible glitter

  • Butterfly pea flower ice cubes (optional)

  • Glow cube (optional)

Method

  1. Freeze ice

Steep butterfly pea flowers in water, cool, then freeze into cubes (~4 hours).

  2. Mix

In a shaker, combine vodka, Blue Curaçao, lychee liqueur, lemon juice, and edible glitter and shake.

  3. Prepare glass

Place butterfly pea ice cubes in a highball glass. Add glow cube in the centre, if using.

  4. Strain & top up

Double-strain mixture over ice, then top with soda water.

  5. Garnish (optional)

Add blue cotton candy atop for a “Spirit Bomb explosion” effect.

Tips

  • For extra spectacle, use glow‑in‑the‑dark/LED ice cubes.

  • Boost aesthetics with edible flowers or delicate citrus spirals in the drink.

Cheers!
