12 Days of Drinkmas ☘️ Day 7: Irish Cream Reborn
- Jan 6
- 1 min read
Irish Cream became globally popular because it was accessible, sweet, and easy to drink. While that made it successful, it also caused the category to be treated casually, often poured without thought or balance. Beneath that sweetness, however, is a combination of Irish whiskey, dairy, and vanilla that can be far more expressive when handled properly.

Irish Cream Reborn strips the drink back and rebuilds it with intention. Whiskey adds backbone, coffee liqueur introduces bitterness, and fresh cream restores texture that bottled cream drinks often lose. Nutmeg and chocolate bitters provide restraint, ensuring the cocktail finishes balanced rather than sugary. This is Irish Cream treated as an ingredient, not a shortcut.
Ingredients
• 45ml Irish Cream
• 20ml Irish Whiskey
• 12ml Coffee Liqueur
• 20ml Vanilla Syrup
• 30ml Double Cream
• Nutmeg & Chocolate Bitters
Method
1. Shake all ingredients with ice.
2. Fine strain into a chilled glass.
3. Garnish lightly with nutmeg.
✨Moe’s Tip
Bitters aren’t optional — they’re what stops this drink from drifting.
